Spanish Civil War - Available now

Post by Redleg »

Tankhead has just posted a Spanish Civil War scenario: "Villanueva de Canada". Lead your Republican troops supported by Soviet tanks against a determined Nationalist rebel force.

I hope you will try this scenario.

It can be downloaded at Tankhead's very nice site: http://www.tankheadcentral.com

Take your chance and try out this excellent scenario. If it is the same one as i tested a while go it is great fun to play :) Also very interesting to try a different time period!

Excellent, just finished the Quinto scenario. A lot like the real battle as far as bloody in-the-streets battle.

Just finished revising for version 5.0 the first battle for Madrid (some big time differences), so maybe in a week or so I should be go to go on the Battle for Madrid campaign.

Wow, those row houses make a huge aesthetic difference.

Yep, the Quinto sceanrio is great. I mean where else do I get to play a joint American-Spanish-Slavic force (covers my mongerel ethnic background). :)

As a sidenote the new SCW OOBs work out pretty great -- I like the new icons especially for the armored cars. I see only a few minor problems mostly start dates -- Int. Brigades should start November 1936.

The melee combat livens up the infantry battles too... very nice.

Er... Thanks, folks! But the right name of the village in question is "VILLANUEVA DE LA CAÑADA" (with one of those funny "Ñ's". The place is reasonably close to where I live.

Anyway, thanks again and "¡No pasarán!" (well, they did, but what does it matter?).

"¡Arriba obreros!
En cada batalla hay que derrotar a la reacción
¡A las barricadas!"

"¡Mientras quede un miliciano los moros no pasarán!"

Well the problem with the "Ñ" I have found at least with the text portions of SPWAW is that it seems to only accept ASCII for text -- in other words plain English characters.

I tried inserting the "Ñ" in my campaign intro and it just shows up as a blank. I don't know if there is a way around this but I would imagine that's why it is spelled like that in the scenario.

Salud,
Chris K.
