Replacements for Evacuated Units

Post by DJAndrews »

Do you have to evacuate an entire unit in order for it to get replacements and rebuild at its new base, or will partial units rebuild?

I thought I saw in the manual that sub units don't receive replacements, but it seems unlikely that you'll be able to evacuate very many intact units from Singapore or other Dutch and US bases.

Are some types of units better to evacuate than others? eg. HQ units or engineers?

As a follow-on question, will a partial HQ unit provide some of its normal benefits or does it need to be intact to provide bonuses, etc.

They dont get replacements or give benefits until there parent unit is destroyed.

e.g. I withdraw 10 men and a kettle from the 1st ISF base force in Singapore and send them to Calcutta.

They are designated 1st ISF Base Force/1 indicating they are a fragment.

While in that state they get no replacements

When the parent unit surrenders when Singapore falls the fragment with the most squads becomes the parent unit so the fragment in Calcutta becomes the 'new' 1st ISF Base Force and will start to rebuild to full TOE levels over time.

For this reason all base forces and HQ's should have fragments evacced out of singapore as they are to valuable to lose entirly when the base falls.

I've seen this happen once already. Caught me off guard until I realized what occurred.
