Direct download is the only way at the moment (with the option of a CD sent on later) But 40 quid is what it costs. You can't get it without paying 40 quid..

The game is about 450MB. But you can get a CD copy from Matrix at this site. Not sure what the delivery time is though.

I think the latest main patch is 120MB but I think any disks purchased will be patched up to date. Better check with Matrix

I can't confirm this, but fire off a note to support@matrixgames.com

I am pretty sure that if you went and bought it right now, you will be downloading 1.21 with all the patches already in it, not 1.00 and have to pull all the patches separately.

Ask now, and make sure the answer applies to all CD's shipped now and in the future, saves time when they release fancy box on demand (which I'm waiting for, I like fancy little boxes to add to the collection!).

Game is well worth the money though, I've been playing it since it came out and I dragged it down onto my machine in early July - most games I purchase last ~2 days tops, so > 10x the playtime at only ~1.5x the cost (including est. value of shipped Box) - good value to me!

The game is definately worth the download time. I seem to remember it was going to take 30 hours with my old 56K modem.... At that point I upgraded to broadband [:D] and it took about 2 hours..
