Air tranfer to Lunga???

Post by john martino »

Guys I need some help! I have 3 CVs as US player. I want to get the marine VF groups now based at Noumea to Linga air field. Can some take a shot at advising me the correct way to use a CV to load and then tranfere them or off load them at Lunga airfield.
First must this cargo be shipped all the way to the port of Lunga and then off loaded? Or can they be flown off a few hexes out? I know that the ship's normal air group will not be able to fly during this process. Can they fly once the tranfered planes are off? Should this be a tranport mission for the CV?
Also how can I get B-17s from Noumea to Lunga? Is it possible by tranfere command?

If you want to transfer your VMF squadrons from Noumea to Lunga the best way is firstly to rebase them to Luganville, then proceed to the transfer to Lunga from this base so you don't need to use your precious CV's for this purpose.

For your B17's squadrons you just have to select transfer to base in the squadron screen and then select its destination as they get range enough to fly off from Noumea to Lunga. I suggest you wait until the airfield is built up to size 4 before proceeding because your bombers will not be able to carry their max load and operate at their maximum range.

Another factor to delay transferring B17s to Lunga is naval bombardments - unless you are in total command of the sea ;-)
