"Arkady" - I think I know what was wrong with "Delay 9999" files!

Hi all,

"Arkady" - I think I know what was wrong with "Delay 9999" files!


I just checked Tutorial scenario #1 and saw that:

#1
All ships that are not used had:

"Delay" set to "9999"

All ships that are not used also had:

"Location" set to "000", "Delayed", "Base"


#2
All AirGroups that are not used had:

"Delay" set to "9999"

All AirGroups that are not used also had:

"Location" set to "0000", "0000-None", "Base"


#3
All locations that are not used had:

"Delay" set to "9999"

All locations that are not used also had:

"Near" set to "000", "0000-None"

"Loc X" set to "0"

"Loc Y" set to "0"


Since you just set "Delay" to "9999" and never did chnage the other settings perhaps this was the reason why WitP frorze with your files!

nope, I have different solution

how many LCU do you have on each side...

i use my files and add three LCU to each side and game freeze as you said

i slowly increased number of units on each side

with 4 LCU on each side there is a bid delay after merging sub units phase but finaly game unlock and continue

with more and more units on each side this gap in response is smaller and smaller, with 12 units on each side there is a standard message pause...

try increase number of units in your scenario and let me know...

BTW, can you perhaps add the chnages I described above (i.e. setting of locations) to your files just in case ("Mr. Kid" did those changes in his Tutorial Scen#01 and he didn't just set delay to 9999)?

how many LCU do you have on each side...

I had 2 HQ (1 HQ for each side - my TEST scenario was just 3 islands: 2 on sides and 1 in the middle).

"Mr. Frag" said that 1 HQ is all you need BTW.

I incorporate your suggestion into my empty files, without enough units game still freeze, but those changes helps me with remnants of industry in former-base hexes [:)]

I'll upload newer version of template files with info on minimal number of units in scenario

When do you think you will post those new files (with new changes)?

I would like to start building my TEST scenarios and will not do that until your new versions are available...


BTW, I added few LCUs according to your suggestions and the freezes are gone!
