Carrier Question

Post by BaitBoy »

Can I station plains from one nationality on a carrier from another?

I have lost a few CLs to the KB, and I am about to loose some more, they are too damaged to make it to safety. They are mostly Dutch and ANZAC. If I transfer the float planes off of them before I scuttle them, can I operate them off of the Royal Navy ships that are aircraft capable but start with no planes? For that matter, can I station American planes on the RN Carriers so I don't have to deal with those horrible Sea Gladiators?

Good question...
Haven't had that problem yet but.....
There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion.

I'll Give it a try, but it might be a while since the planes are in DEI and the RN is hiding from the KB in India.

I would think logically no, due to different airframes, catapults, and the such, but it may well be possible.

As the rest said, eagerly awaiting the info..

Hi, You know I love a guy so into detail he worries about single Dutch Float planes. Try making their HQ British. You could still load them onto an AK I think.
It's attention to detail that I admire most.

Keep in mind ... if the damage is that bad, you will not be able to transfer the aircraft ... just like with CV's ... consider all that wonderfully exposed catapult gear and crane to be one of the first things to go in a battle.

Allright, here it is

I was able to successfully land a US Seagull on a British CA. I still do not know if the Command that the planes are attached to has an effect. I accidentally hit the "transfer to base" button the first time rather than the "transfer to ship" button and I changed the Command of the Seagulls to try and "fix" the problem. [8|]
I think that the Command that the squadron is attached to will not matter except perhaps for how quickly the squadron gets replacements for losses.

Now to transfer some VMF Squadrons to India so the British CVs will actually be able to provide some air cover. [8D]
