Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Is this forum dead ?

Post by macdonald »

Hi, I just bought CotD yesterday and i'm still in the manual (i just tried one scenario). But the game looks very good. I'm just desapointed there are no TCP/IP features. And also no map zoom-out (as already said in some other topics).

But I'm surprised that the forum is not more active ??? Last post was 10 days ago!

Anybody's here ?

I still come by daily to see what's going on, but you're right - there are no active discussions happening. And any major changes to the game engine will likely only appear in future sequels, so the 1805-1809 game appears near the end of its development. Enjoyable game nevertheless.

I've been too busy to play it for weeks. Not the game's fault.

Mind you, I find that although the game is pleasant and well done, it somehow fails to be addictive. I'm not sure why.

The game is good but it's a bit modest in scope....that may be the reason that the forum has slowed....I am busy with other projects and games right now so I have put CotD on the backburner for the time being...I will come back to it though as I await some word from Frank's other project, Guns of August.....
