Forming Battalion Landing teams

Post by lucascuccia »

I was curious if the developer could a few more unit breakdowns to the program. As I best understand, Division size LCU can be broken down into 3 sub units or brigade designated as XXdivison/a b or c.
Also, independent brigades can be split in 2. Would it not be possiible to have the division brigades (regiments) again split into 3 to form battalion size units. They could be designated as xx division/a 1 a2 or a3. There are several instances on both the allied and jap side that these size units where used. The early December 1941 landing in the Phillipines such as Batan Islan,Vigan, and Appari were from detactments of the divisions and independent regiments assigned to the 14th army. When the allies invaded the Marshalls in 1944, an army BLT was used to take Majuro Atoll. The other 2 battalion of that BLTs parent regiment aided in the taking of Entiwetok 3 weeks later. The game has no capacity for this.

Also, could certain indenpendant battalions such as most of the tank units be divided into 3 companies? Single tank companies ofter would accompany RCT into battle.

I think this would add a true level of tactical detail that existed in the strategic war of the pacific.
