if you make it into point-blank range you're pretty much guaranteed to cause shutdown in one volley and engine explosion in two. You can try for a third full volley but you might explode instead.
It's strangely quite effective, despite being completely ridiculous.

Shouldn't it have a shield 6 cause it will certainly be in the explosion radius too ?

Yeah, and since you are always fighting at 1 hex ranges, the computer can come down a few levels.

Eh, true I guess. It's more a proof-of-concept design at the moment, I might reduce the number of weapons to make it more surviveable.

Nice idea, but what would you do if the enemy has a shield 6 turned on? [X(]

Let's calculate the average heat dealt to the enemy if it has a Shield 6 on AND your hit chance is 98% (best case scenario-- it could be worse):

2% chance of missing * 0
+ 50% chance of hitting the shield * 7 (1C of heat per damage)
+ 46% chance of hitting the titan * 2.52 (a shield 6 reduces the effect of the FT by 80%)
= 4.6684C per FT.

With 14 of them, that's 65.3576C, while YOUR heat goes up to 98 from firing the weapons. And the enemy only needs 5 more FT hits on your titan to give it a shutdown. [;)]

Possible Variations (you can apply any or all of them):

1. Remove the TB at RT, upgrade shield to level 6 (RT), upgrade the flare to level 3 and put it into LT, add CT armor to 69, and add an EMP into LT.

2. Replace one or two of the FT's (preferrably the ones on the legs) with an AC4 for smokescreens or calling shots at range.

3. Downgrade the engine to engine 3 to put more armor into CBT. However, you will have to use a lower shield level or turn off the ECM when moving (The Engine 3 gives 7 PUs. The heat reg takes 1, the scanner takes another, the ECM needs one, and the shield needs 4-- try a lower shield setting while moving.)


How to use the titan (of course, this is entirely theoretical):
First, overload the enemy's shield (50C). The 8 FT's will heat up the enemy by another 100.8C, for a total of 150.8C (just enough for a shutdown). And even if you're unlucky (i.e. the TB did not overload the shield), called shots from the twin TB can remove the head anyway [:D]

You might want to consider some NM7 or NM14. You loose some punch for some range... Or a Black Ray gun... It hard to run when you're lying on the ground [:)]

I might try making one with six flamethrowers and a bunch of other stuff, as a "serious" titan.


Efficiency isn't the point with this one. :)
