Subs can Hit Mines

I saw this in testing but this is the first time in a PBEM game I've seen it happen.[:D]

What was the sub's mission? I wonder if Sub Transport TFs are more likely to hit mines that sub patrols.

Something similar happened to me against the AI.

1945 scenario, Allied sub set out to mine Truk - hit two IJN mines in the entrance to the port, split open and sank.
