CV Hiyo problems

Post by Roy »

playing scen 16, as japan, patch 1.21, on 2.4 ghz, w/ 256 mb nvidia video.

ran into a problem.

on july 16-1942, the CV Hiyo, which had been accelerated to arrive early, was in a taskforce 3 hexes north of Lunga.

on july 17, it disappeared.

on july 18 game states it arrives at Tokyo as reinforcment. a check of port at Tokyo shows no Hiyo.

july 19 game states it arrives at Tokyo as reinforcment. a check of port at Tokyo shows no Hiyo.

July 18 a DD was supposed to arrive as reinforcement(cheched on turn 16 it was 2 days away), it did not. still 2 days away.
Seems every ship in the military arrival was not counting down.
merchant ships were still counting down days and arriving I assume.

Game would be playable w/o just the Hiyo, but not every warship still being constructed.

Known bug. Accelerated construction was causing the ship to not arrive.

Until the patch, return construction to NORMAL pace when 7 days out. You could change it when 3 days out, but I find that 7 days is a safer bet.

Must have missed that part of your post. Now that I re-read you post I see it now.

I must be getting old and senile.

This could still be due to the accelerated production issue.
The field being used for production time could still be active and when the game checks it, it may have decided that the CV is now due (again).
The "underflow" of a variable can often have strange (and different) outcomes in a program.
