Aircraft replenishment?

Post by john martino »

When US CVs return to Neumea how do they replenish the air groups?? Does it happen automatically or must you have air groups at the base for them to replenish? If a CV lost 10 units from an VB or VT units how long does it take to refill the units to fully strenght?

They will reinforce when the task force is sitting in port at noumea
and when replacements are available.
it takes several weeks at the beginning of the game for the allies to come up
to full strength and I have no experiance with the japanese.
also check the replacement pool and that will tell you if there are any
pilots or planes available to replenish your squadrons.

For the Japanese the squadrons are replenished once the CVs are in range of Truk, which allows the Zeros, Kates and Vals to be transferred onboard if available. As the replacement rate is quite low for the Dive bomber and Torpedo bomber, your squadrons will probably never operate at full strenght due to pretty high combat losses they would have suffered.

Kb needs to be looked after, it is your most potent weapon especially in the long ahistoric campaings. But you have to husband it to keep it in tip top shape. The are a number of independant vals units that can be used to replenish carrier groups in a pinch.

Open the intelligence view report, then click on the aircraft replacement button and check the number available in the pool for the model of planes you are interested.(the second column).
