Testing USB harddisks

Post by Marc von Martial »

Hi guys,

does somebody know of a tool to perform physical, surface and performance tests of USB harddisks? All the ones I know of only work with drives that are actually attached to your IDE controller.

I have a 250GB USB HD and Norton Disk Doctor (part of Norton System works, usually free to upgraders with rebate if you look carefully) works on it the same as any other drive.

It can also depend on what OS its using. Before XP there may be an OS problem allowing access.

@Paul

What is the picture underneath matrix logo? Some ancient armor? Just curious.
