Or onto the beach, more like....could that projected storm track be any worse? Straight up the coastline like that. If it does follow that track, all the east coast from Miami to Norfolk will likely get hit not only with storm surge but also with hurricane force onshore winds from the counterclockwise rotation. A hurricane is rapidly disrupted as it moves inland, but as long as half of it is over the ocean like that, it could remain relatively strong....at least Jeanne is no Ivan.

14" of rain in just 2 days, and that was just Francis.

There's a river (South Creek) that I go over on my way home each day. It cuts across this rancher's pastureland. From the bridge, you can see that there is normally about an 8' deep riverbed. Now, after 3 hurricanes in 5 weeks, you can't even see the riverbed. The "creek" had turned everything within 300 yds of the riverbed, into swamp. It's just now receeding back to where the ravine is.

Don't forget Ivan. It reformed from pieces parts in the gulf. I saw that on CNN earlier today. Talking about it hitting Texas and Louisianna now too.

I'll stay in NE Ohio for me. I can take an occasional tornado or low grade earthquake. (I was in the 'big one' that hit in 86 that registered a 5.0)

5.0? 5.0??? And you call that a "big one"? The local news doesn't even report earthquakes that small 'round here. (Says the guy sitting ten miles from the San Andreas Fault.)

That is why I put it in quotes. That is the largest earthquake around here in about a century. That is also why I am staying put in Ohio. All the beautiful weather places have other problems. Hurricanes (Florida), Earthquakes (California), and Volcanos (Hawaii). I like snow and we have a beach here on Lake Erie. That's good enough for me.

I'm just getting a little tired of this sh_t tho. I've lived here 25 years, and hurricanes are just part of it. But geeze, 4 hurricanes in 6 weeks, that's frustrating.

We lost power again for a little while, but thankfully, we got it back last night (was surprised, a LOT of people still without power, or worse). But, at least I've got a home and job to go back to.

Reminds me of those poor towns in the midle of the flatlands, getting slamed by Tornadoes .. I guess I do not like flatlands or Florida... nice places to visit? or not.. but guys this is amazing.. two hits on the same town, has that EVER happened? in the same year?

Same here Feinder......my kids are in Northern Palm Beach County and they are tired of living in a dark shuttered house and it wears on the psyche......I am in Tallahassee.....we have had four Tropical Storms pass over us and knock out power each time through the ineptness of local area utilities. I feel for the people that lose houses and everything they have though.....

My Mom is still there Tallyman, and she has had no trouble wit hlosign power more than a couple hours. But then again she still has Talquin Electric

Ahh The good ol' days.

Worst part is all the Appalachicola Oyster beds are polluted now.
