Sov plotting chances '41?

there is a theory out there that Sov can totally wreck an ambitious Axis '41 attack in first 3 moves by plotting suicide, straight-line mech corps 5 hex vectors...anyone agree?...for instance, ever get cut off at Riga with no place to go on Jun 29?...or need to fight yr way into Vyazma or Rzhev mid Sep, because you really did get held up in July?...or does Possumv6 really remain the last hope of any Sov 41 player?

Just started a game as Germans against Panzerfaust where he pulled off something like this. The opening turns went very nice. But early July eight (!) Panzer Korps of AG Center and South were out of supply due to sudden penetrations of Soviets tank/mech armies, each containing a division. They had been patiently waiting in the Pripet Marshes to strike. I definitely lost a turn there. Gamy? I don't think so. The rules allow it, so despite my deep frustration (@#$%^&*) it added a completely new perspective to the German summer offensive....
