How can I access the Big Ships

The Encyclopedia shows large ships wwith various nations but I don't seem to be able to access them from the editor. The don't show up on any buy list orlist given to change a unit type..no matter that I use the dates they shows as available, ect. Like to see the german R-boots...that BIG Itailian Crusier, ect....How/where can I find them?

AFAIK they are only available when you are making an amphibious landing. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

That R-boot seems to be available under misc/coastal craft.

And I think that the Italian cruiser has no formation thus it doesn't show in the normal buy screens. However if you set the date to 12/49 you can get it from the editor/buy screen.

The ships I believe Mark is talking about are not available for amphibious landings. Unless the battle takes place in Dec. 1949.

Most of those ships (IT cruiser, FI Coastal Armed Ship, NO Destroyer) are for scenario design...they have availablity dates of 12/49. They DO have formations....like the train (Normay OOB), if the scenario date is right, the IT Cruiser shows up as a viable "purchase" unit.
