B5 Help

Post by agamemnon_b5 »

Downloaded the Hold The Line mod, but when I try to extract, this error message comes up:

"Could not create file "Mod\Ships\EA\Midwinter\Thumbs.db:encryptable"

What does that mean and how can I solve this?

That's a normal Windows OS message. There is a little hidden file that Windows creates to hold the image thumbnail params in any folder that has images. I don't know what the format is, but I've seen that message before when trying to unzip folders. You may be able to just ignore the message and keep going...

The problem is WinAce won't let me get past that message. It automatically stops unziping.

at this point, all I can think is you are out of disk space..

is there any way you can open the archive, and find that file and delete it? or extract all the files but that one

I have 19.7GB of free space. I am trying right now to extract around that particular file.

The problem is, Windows 98 doesn't like creating a directory with : in the name. Unfortunately, I don't know how to go about fixing it.

I actually got the same error message under windows 2000, but I just ignored the errors when they popped up (as John had suggested) and everything seems to be working ok. I haven't run into any problems during gameplay.

I'm not seeing a way to ignore the errors in Winace or Winrar. Anything I try just cancels the process.

I'll try that, it sounds like it will take awhile.
