Leader bug still there

Started a new game as allies (scen15). On 15th dec i noticed that sub commander was replaced by jap COL (sub Pike).
I checked and on 11th of dec that sub was still commanded by USN commander. I don't know when that change
happened. On 14th of dec sub was already commanded by that jap COl. No save game available between 11-14 dec
unfortunately. I hope that helps

Hi Mr.Frag,

Will examples from edited scenarios work for you too? I am going to try very hard to get a before and after save of this bug for you, but I play against the AI with an edited scenario. If you can only use saves from unedited scenarios, then I'll not waste my time.

(I'll be starting a new game vs the AI sometime soon with version 1.3, so I don't have examples yet.)

Good for you, latosusi. I keep thinking that I will see this before I move on to my next turn so that I can save before-and-after, but I always miss it (I'm too busy trying to play the game, see).

I really hope that we can get something done about this in 1.4. Sure, you can play the game all right, but it completely destroys the immersion factor when you see 2Lt Butafuki standing on the bridge of the Enterprise.

His saves were very helpful at displaying the problem although I don't have the exact turn it went wrong. Trying to recreate that point in time.

It looks to be a completely different issue then the leader changing sides.

In this case, the leader was not reassigned, he was overwritten by another leader. He effectively got a name change.

The other leaders exist just fine. It didn't steal one. It cloned one.

Ok, this bug seems specifically related to splitting up a TF of subs while at sea. More details to follow.

In the meantime, to avoid this completely keep your sub patrols single ship for now when forming TF's.

This is very likely to be a sub only problem. Haven't quite pinned down the exact sequence, but I can recreate it. Just sorting through the order of details to get the specific method down.

It's good to know you are on top of things Mr. Frag. With a game as complicated as this one, there are bound to be things go wrong in one way or another that isn't always identified early on. Then it gets even more complicated when you try to fix said problem because half the time the fix works it bring even more problems of it's own. Anyone who has ever programmed knows about that.

Is there any way someone could bring all those lost leaders back? Maybe not to their old commands
but available to be chosen?

Basically they have been bulk erased from the game by being overwritten by a different leader. It is not like the leader still exists and could be brought back by restoring a pointer. He's gone!
