Video display issue!!!HELP PLEASE!!!

Post by Clipper1968 »

I get a problem with the cinematic scenes which are not correctly displayed during the game as they end prematurly.[:(]
Moreover the sound is quite unaudible unless I set up the volume to the maximum...[&:]
I have directly played this cutscenes and it works perfectly! No sound probem at all!I have also realized that I messed up...those scenes are really marvellous.[8D]
I was using Windows Media Player version 9 and have updated to version 10 and the problem is still persisting.[:(]
The Thebes cinematic scene lasts about 1 minutes and 30 seconds, however during the game it stops after 20 seconds.
The Granicus cutscene lasts approximatively 1 minute and 17 seconds, unfortunately it ends after 17 seconds.
I am really wondering what the problem is???[&:]

When playing directly those cutscenes I have noticed one interesting thing:
the Thebes cinematic scene is stated to last only 20 seconds whereas it is displayed for 1 minutes and 30 seconds!
the same for Granicus that is referred to last only 17 seconds instead of 1 minute and 17 seconds!
IMHO it is the problem! There is a gap between the real video duration and the lenght which is currently detected...
How could I resolve this issue???[&:]Could you help me please???[&o][&o][&o]

Except this problem the game is working perfectly.[8D]

Thanks in advance.

Pumba,

I know that you have been in contact with one of us at Koios Works. If you have not done so already, can you send us your log files (under the Log directory where you installed the game) and a DxDiag file? Send them to support@matrixgames.com or support@koiosworks.com.

We have only noticed this problem when you have an older version of Media Player installed. Since you are up-to-date, there is some other issue that we will need to research.

Thanks,
Deride

Again, for anyone reading this thread:

We did a sound card driver update, and that seems to have fixed the sound issue with video playback. It is still not working perfectly, but that is at least one problem that everyone should look into if they are having audio problems as well.

One more follow-up on this issue.

We discovered that the problem was an older audio codec loaded on the machine. By updating the codec, the video now works correctly.
