Which mod to use ?

Hi,

I thought of playing a WIR game after long time and
noticed there seems to be some mods around.

which would you recommend and where to d/l it ?

ps: will play the AI since not enough time for
PBM, or is there anyone who wants a slow game ( 1 - 2 turn a week ) ??

i suggest plain good 'ol fashioned WiR 3.3 - if it's been a while then there are probrably many changes you are not familier with.

i think possum v5 is the only much used mod, and it changes the game quite a bit with lots of new units and a new map. makes it MUCH tougher for germany.

I downloaded possum v5 and it looks very interesting. However, I read in another thread that there is a possum v6. What's the difference between v5 and v6, and where can I find v6?

Ok, thanks Flanker. I probably misinterpreted what Tom 1939 wrote:

"I think possum 6 is good. It should be hard for the germans. I always thought it is historical for the soviets to have the edge. I think this will be historical game, if I can survive 41. I saved my troops from the early massacre and now they form a quite strong defensive line. I even have a fair second line. I'm optimistic and worried at the same time. Did I do enough? There will be intense fighting from now on. If I can avoid throwing my 3 tank armies into combat, there will be a long blizzard for germans:) The soviet air force will only arrive in 42, but it will cause great losses to the Luftwaffe. In 43 I hope to get even in the air."

I thought "possum 6" meant that there was a v6.

Anyway, it would be really fun to play a Possum campaign as the germans. Anyone want to play me as the russian? I'm a very experienced WIR-player, although most of my gaming experience comes from playing the older versions of the game.

Not very much. Add a few changes a fixes some bugs. All the work almost finished with v.5. But is the final release from Possum. I send you the mod.

By the way: Do you use any House Rules with Possum v. 6 (for example no Finnish attack on Leningrad) - or do you play it “as it is”?
