THIS GAME DOESNT SUPPORT DIRECT IP!!!

This game doesn't support direct IP as I show offline when trying to host.
Same goes for the 2 other players that tried to host/join at their turn.
That really SUCKS, as there is no 24/24, 7/7 game server online.
Tech support, please do something about this... I don't know, perhaps register with gamespy, battle HQ or Hyperlobby, or so...
A game without multiplayer capabilities is not a game these days...

Damn. You opened the ports, right?
@TheDeadlyShoe> Unless, say, you could make black holes at will.
@Razeam> I can do that but I don't want to.

Yes, we have tried everything, between many of us, guided by Damocles.
We could only connect to his dedicated server.
All attempts to coonecting between ourselves (including to Damocles himself as a "simple host" have failed).
I am opened to all sugestions should you or the community have one...
Needless to say, firewalls were completly off and nobody was behind a router except for Damocles.

I respectfully disagree with your post title.

Can you describe the symptoms in more detail than "It didn't work"?

I take it that you used the "Local Server" button to start a server? Can you post the settings you filled in on the server setup dialog box?

The Starshatter GameNet website shows a public game in your name was running about an hour ago. Out of curiousity, why were you using port 4000, instead of 11100 or 42367 or some other high-numbered unused IP port?

Dear Milo,

Again, thank you so much for making this a personal issue. That's first class support.
Now, back to the problem.
My problem now is hosting a game (note that I can join any dedicated server on the server list when available - wich is something rare, notwithstanding).
To try and hosting I did use that local server add button.
At first I used the stock parameters, only naming my server "Diabolico's Starshatter game" and leaving the rest untouched.
Here was my server CFG at the time :

SERVER_CONFIG

name: "Diabolico' s Sarshatter game"
admin_name: "system"
admin_pass: "manager"
game_pass: ""

admin_port: 11111
lobby_port: 11100
game_port: 11101
game_type: public
auth_level: standard

poolsize: 8
session_timeout: 300

Now, as that didn't work, I browsed those same game net pages you mentioned and tryed the port settings that were registered there as used for other players. That didn't work either.

Finnaly I had Damocles help me with this and he gave me those last settings you see on gamenet, as it seemed to have worked for him once.
Well it din't work for me either!
As usual, I appear on the server list but offline!
I know at least 3 other persons that have this problem, including Damocles.

As I am not a networker tech, I need something really simple like a button to host a game or even to make my starshatter copy act as a server.

I have no problem joining or hosting on dedicated servers but can't just host my game. And I am not the only 1 having thisproblem.

Help please!!![:@]
