Misc. Questions

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-Playing 1.3 as US, 9/1/'42, human control on So-SoWesPac & CentPac. only. I had a supply problem at Port Morseby, supplies were in the pink. Tried to use air supply for an Aussie unit 1 hex up the Kokoda trail from PM. But, when I clicked on the C-47 groups, there was a sign, "No troop missions". But, I wanted to move supplies by air. ?- Is troop transport & supply transport the same for air units? 2. Alaska- This is under computer control, but there are 2 bases with very low supplies. ? Does the computer supply these bases, or do I have to? 3. Does the computer take care of UK ship withdrawals, or do I, when the computer has control of India, etc?. The manual, 6.2 says ships have to British nationality. Are Aussie & NZ ships considered to be British for this purpose? Thanks, Hugh Browne

# 3 You are responsible for returning British ships at Karachi. I have never sent commonwelth ships to Karachi. You need to test it. But I doubt it.[;)]

No, the computer doesn't withdraw British naval units to the best of my knowledge. I also believe the ships have to be British and not Australian or New Zealand.

# 2 You need go to the bases and turn the automatic convoy on. This allows the base to be supplied by automatic convoy. Then you have to go to SFO and put some AK's and escort vessels under control of the automatic convoy system then pray that at some time the auto convoy system will supply these bases their minimum needs. If you ever expect to use these bases keep them supplied yourself[8D]

#1 I don't think the game yet provides for the resupply of troops by air unless they are at a base.[&:]

I'm sure I resupped troops on the ground, on the Kokoda Trail. set C-47 to supply and click on inf icon, it should show air Gp destination as the hex your troops are in. I marched the 30th Bde from PM to Buna and air supped them from PM

I was supplying troops away from a base by air between Port Moresby and Buna so you don't need to be in a base to be supplied by air.
