Save Game Problem

Hi all,

Have encountered a prob with PBEM save -

I try loading the turn (PBEM selected so no worries on the options) and when I try to load it comes up with a message saying "unable to load game".

I have a theory on this but wanted to see if I was right:

I tried loading all my other saves with PBEM as mode of play and they all worked EXCEPT:

Save 8 (my turns to my opponent)
Save 9 (my opponents turns to me)

My theory is that maybe my opponent just saved his turn and didn't end it? Hence my turn to him would not load for me since it would be his orders phase and the save he sent me would still be in his orders phase and not the end turn sequence. I am waiting to hear back from HARD_Sarge to see if this is the case but wondered if anyone here had thoughts on it?

Further info -

Not a problem with my opponent not ending the turn.

Also thinking about it sure I would be able to open up my turn to him if only his turn was knackered and I can't do that.

In short I think something has happened my end. Now only thing I have done in past 2 days is to restore my system to one I had 2 weeks ago (had internet probs and has somehow made autoplay and certain games a bit screwy. Maybe something has happened here?

Does anyone have any ideas? Erik? Frag?

Sometimes saving it the wrong way can label the file 'read only'. Try deleting the existing file and resave.

Sorted thanks though Rogue.

By changing back to an old system it has revised the game to V1.21. Seems strange since it said it wouldn't change any files or saves but hey.

Changed to newer version and all sorted [:)]

I am having this difficulty too, I can open a previous turn file, but not the most recent one. We started this game under 1.3. Get the same error message.

Seems the file I got was about half size and that was the trouble. Got the save file resent and all is good again.
