Everybody's Too Nice!!

Post by Figmo »

OK - I've had it. We are humans and it is our nature to "Not be nice". So I've started a new e-mail list were you can talk about Military History and Games - ALL of them. You can say what you like. If you don't like somebody - you can tell them - as long as it's within the Yahoo regulations. You can talk about ALL Miltiary History and Games. But expect others to give their opinion.

The only rule I will have - which probably won't be enforced - is you set the subject to match the discussion - it's more of courtousy thing to those that don't want to read it.

Come join in the fun all you need to do is send an e-mail to:

Nice concept, Figmo. With you in charge, I'm sure it will be fun and well disciplined. I'll join up!

Thanks Wild Man - but that's the concept - NO Discipline - you don't have to be nice - say what you want as long as Yahoo doesn't shut us down. Those that can't take it should stay away!!

Look forward to seeing you there!! :D

What's being nice mean. does it mean giving the other guy respect and holding an open mind?

Me too Sven. There are enough sites out there for ripping into each other without me having to read about it. but I wish good fortune for Figmo and hope he can hold it together. It's just that it might be a magnet for all the jerks out there looking for an excuse to exercise their need for sadistic expression.

That's Cool and thanks for the good wishes!! :D I look at it more as a place for people to vent without having to worry about getting kicked off. If we have a few flame wars - so be it - sometimes it's fun to read them without getting into them - I tend to laugh a lot during those - then again it's fun to join in too.

Figmo...what a grand concept....I LIKE IT ! As you may know....I've been the bad boy of the boards several times. Geez.....my NCOERs for years...said I lacked "tact" and was "abrasive". But, when my battalion commanders needed the job done...who did they call ? Heheehehehhe....ME ! You know...if the world was made up of so many of the panty-waists I see here so often....we'd be in dire straits ! I'll be visiting your site ASAP....but, I would venture to guess I'll be getting flamed on this thread withing the next couple days.

Sincerely...the Vulgar and Sexist...Delta 3-2

I do agree with some of the posts here. I love this forums site...and the people here. Most of the time I feel out matched as far as knowlage of things and battles....but....it is nice to just come here and read and post to people who are being nice to each other.
If you feel you need to explore this branch of the forum...good...do it...but...please don't bring any arguments from there to this forum....I like it like it is...
Take care...

Sounds like a perfect site for you Dan. What it has to do with your service record is anybody's guess.

I like the concept of a 'rude' area for discussion. There are a lot of personal feelings associated with warfare and history. It's hard sometimes to keep them calm. I think this forum is awesome, though, for the degree of respect everyone shows for each other. This place makes me nicer.. (I hope I'm not too nice.) I already registered for your forum Figmo. I think its a good idea, but I do agree with some of the sentiments expressed earlier. That makes your concept all the more important. It's like a bar you can go to after the debate club is over...

Yeah, I'm with you! I'm going to start sending out "Nice people suck!" bumper stickers. I also don't like people who say what they think, and e-mail lists that allow it. So there!

Not to be rude, but...

Heh,heh, sounds like it will be a blast and the best part being (just like with radio or TV)if one doesn't enjoy it, one needs only to tune out.

I've been daydreaming of a tournament site over at Yahoo set up like the league at Military Gamer. I was even thinking of little trophies made from wooden bases with a 1/285th scale GHQ Panther mounted on top for the winners.

Unfortunately I'll probably never get around to it. I've been spending time making maps and trying my damnedest to finish the long campaign...
...and if that ain't the right name for it.

Good Luck,

Hey - you should make a separate post on it and see if you can get some help - I'm sure there are lots of people here willing to help. No need for the trophies - it would cost more to send them than make them.

See you on the list - bring your armour!! :D

Hi Figmo,

Thanks, I'll post the idea of a tournament another time though. I'm tired of typing and want to get back to my campaign (just an Alt-Tab away). :D

I still have the image of a little trophy with a little gold-electroplated Panther (or T-34 or Sherman or whatever) atop a nice hardwood base stuck in my head. But then again, if I go out and start buying GHQ miniatures again, I'll never leave my house.

Best wishes to you and good luck with the site.
