133rd Seabees' Unit Citation Petition

Post by KG Erwin »

I hope you guys will sign this online petition. The 133rd Naval Construction Battalion was assigned to the 4th Marine Division for the Iwo Jima invasion, but its name was overlooked in the list of attached units for the Presidential Unit Citation.

Please help to get the historical record corrected.

The petition is here:

http://www.petitiononline.com/IwoCB133/petition.html

I was signatory number 999. You guys can push this to over 1000 easily.

Thanks.

The petition now has 1011 names. Thank you to my friends and fellow gamers who have attached their names to this effort. [&o] Sound off, guys, and help get the 133rd Seabees the recognition they truly deserve. The 60th anniversary of the Iwo Jima invasion is fast approaching, so this would be great for the surviving members and families of the unit.
