Random Save game crash.

Just thought I'd post this, running WitP 1.4, and after playing several turns, when saving the game I get a CTD. This happens when running stock scenarios, modded scenarios (My OOB mod), and the beta/test version of War Plan Orange. This is something that had not happened to me before I installed 1.4.

I have the same problem. First 10 or 15 saves, no problem, then whammo, CTD on the next one. At least it still SAVES correctly, but it is annoying to have to reboot the game.

Actually, some times I think of it as my auto-timer. When it crashes, it's either time for bed or time for work, one or the other. So I tell myself, "I guess it's time to stop."

I don't like it when it happens after like two turns though. That sucks.

I've seen this too, I've also noticed that it happened less after I de-fragged my hard drive. Just wait a second or two after saving.
The good news is, it doesn't seem to affect saved games.

It only happens after a save and then when I click the exit button on that screen. It doesnt occur If I use the escape key instead to exit.

Yes, it's a new bugger added by 1.40, but I don't complain about it, because they hate me plenty already over the leader thing. If you click on "exit" from the save screen and the game crashes (XP), just wait a sec and you get the desktop with the WitP start screen overlay. You can go back to your saved game and pick up where you left off, only having wasted a few minutes of your life.

I don't have any repeatable saves ...

I have to reboot the computer every couple of days to avoid this problem. It usually comes with a error message concerning a bitmap or something not loading. I think it is probably a computer memory error.

also have this problem, but crashes with ESC or exit and then not on every time. Also noticed CTD in middle of turns (not saving) a couple of times prior to the save issue coming up repeatedly now. But no more in middle of turns. I will check out the other 1.4 CTD thread. Thanks
