How to make the plane alpha?

Anyone care to try to explain how to take the top art and convert it to the alpha?

I have not done one yet but here how I would do it

1 load a original plane alpha file for color referance
2 load the top art of required plane
3 from the original select the white as background color
4 using a selector (magic wand in Paint Shop Pro) highlight the edges of the pink background of the required plane (1 step should get all pink in one click) (you only want the pink to highlite) then INVERT now you should only have the plane highlighted (if you at first try to highlite plane you would most probebly only grab parts of it because of differant colors)
5 Cut (now you should have only a pink box with a white outline of plane)
6 change pink to black) you now should have a Plane Alpha
7 cut and paste into plane Alph sheet - test
8 all done
should take 2 min
