Flashpoint goes Gold!

Matrix Games and Simulations Canada combine and completely remake two classic NATO vs. Warsaw Pact wargames into a new classic. Based on the original wargames “Main Battle Tank: North Germany” and “Main Battle Tank: Central Germany”, Flashpoint Germany is a new grand tactical wargame of modern combat. Every aspect of modern grand tactical warfare is included, from advanced armor, air and helicopters to chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Step into the most dangerous war.. . that never was.

Congratulations to Rob for all his hard work and finally finishing the game. Now go and have a lie down!

I had the privilege of being a beta tester until about 6 months ago when illness ended my participation.

I thought the game was shaping up to be really special even in the earlier versions as Rob was very receptive to suggestions and making it as good as possible. Having looked at the latest screenshots it looks even better now.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Looking forward to this one a lot (despite having been pretty oblivious to it until a month or so ago !).

Also looking forward to some PBEM. On the subject of which, I see the game also supports TCP/IP but with game lengths of "4 to 14 hours" is that really viable? I guess so assuming there's a save feature, but even so PBEM seems a much better bet.

As far as I understand it, this means the "virtual" scenario duration is 4 to 14 hours, but actual play time should be shorter. But how long does it take to play some average scenario?

Cheers
