Well, If it is a stuka it either has retractable landing gear or it's not ment to land at all.

The ends of the wings are certainly different.

I don't understand the weapons pylons or whats attached to them.

Looks like a US Navy/Marine Corsair.

Looks like Pappy sitting in their.

The weapon pylons is the 30mm cannon "Tank Killer" version of the Stuka, the Ju 87G-1.

Maybe you landing gear got shot of or you lost it while flying to low [;)]

Marc

I lost my landing gear long ago.

My wife wouldn't let me order Jack Daniel's hydrolic fluid from the supply depot anymore.[:D]

Belly landings hurt

Anyway you look at it that Stuka has no wheels to land on[;)]

Hi Marc
they were 37 mm anti-tank guns

and yes, I clipped a tank as I was pulling up,it was just such a perfect cut off, that I took a shot of it

(have seen a pic from during the war where a Stuka had clipped the water when attacking a ship and lost both gear, but that wasn't as clean a break as this)

RB
ahh, I understand now, no it is a Stuka, not a F4u

The Ju 87G was the final version of the Stuka. It abandoned the dive attack in favour of an armament of two 37mm Rheinmetall-Borsig BK 3,7 (Flak 18 or Flak 36) anti-tank cannon weighing over 800 lbs (363 kg). These weapons fired special armour-piercing ammunition, with tungsten cores, at a muzzle velocity of 2,790 ft (850 m) per second. They were installed in gun pods fitted outboard of the landing gear legs. The ammunition was in six-round clips. The first operational trials were made in March 1943. The normal 7.92 mm or 20 mm wing guns were deleted. Dive bombing was not possible with the additional weight of the guns, so the dive brakes were also deleted. The Ju 87G could still drop bombs, but not in a dive.

in two different Sims that uses this plane, I have aurged long and HARD that it only carried 6 round clips (Rudel's book, says this also)

most games give it 30 rounds, guess nobody would want to fly it if it only had 6 rounds

From what I know they also had a 30mm version. But maybe that was a "test" version. It´s long ago that I read Rudels memoirs but I´m dead sure he mentioned 30mm.

I think you are thinking of the Hs 129

http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe ... l-129.html

that carried a 30mm

BTW, good detail that they make it handle better if landing gear goes lost.

I like what I saw in this thread and I quess because of you I'm going to have too part with some my sheckles $$$$ and go on a buying spree. But first I have to contact my freinds at the local EB store.[:'(]

So I'm off ( been for alot a years) to the EB store to get IL-Strumovik & Pacific Fighters than give Matrix some of my sheckles.[:D]

I haven't bought a flight sim in years, their like candy to me. I hope you know what I'm doing?
