Alternative WWII Pacific Theater

Post by scott64 »

After the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941, what would come of the United States Navy. Could they stop the Japanese from walking over the Pacific. I was set to stop that. I was appointed the Pacific Theater Commander (PTC). My first task was a swift retailiation raid on teh vary task force that brought havor on Pearl Harbor. I sent a task force consisting of CV Enterprise with a compliment of support vessals to seek out and destroy the Japanese task force. I was soundly defeated with heavy losses. We lost the Enterprise and numerous planes and vessals. Ouch. It was back to the drawing board with my support crew. We came up with a delayed action to gain as much time as possible to get our forces assembled and produced. The Philipines, Singapore, Port Morsby, and the Dutch East Indies had to hold out as long as possible. After teh first week of hostilities we over, Guam had fallen along with other various islands. Wake Island held out despite numerous attacks and has not fallen yet. At the end of December, Japanses forces are on the outskirts of Ragoon and Singapore. Manila is still holding out, but the pocket is closing. My staff and myself have been strategically withdrawn planes and ships, to repair and keep my ships from being sunk. Our next phase is to transfer our planes from the West Coast to Pearl Harbor. Also to hold on to Wake Island and Midway for a stepping stone. So at the end of December 1941 we are hloding on.
