Multi-Player Password Problem

Post by EricGuitarJames »

I was playing Yakstock in the tourney and before starting the game I went through the procedure of entering the password. As is my wont I 'typoed' and so hit 'cancel' - but instead of re-setting it launched into the game proper. At the time I thought nothing of it since I thought that maybe I could go with no password, much as I can playing Combat Mission (been pbem-ing that a lot lately). But when we went to resume the game last night the game would not accept the password I usually use, the password I thought I used, or no password at all! Fortunately we hadn't got too far in the game so it was no big deal. I should also add that Yakstock received some kind of chat message beginning with 'm' (as does my normal password) at around the time I hit 'cancel'. Seems like a glitch in the system to me[:)]

I agree that Cancel should not launch the game, rather it should close the dialog and return to the MP settings screen. OK I will add this to TT(2020).

Same problem here except that we were well into day two of tournament Crunch Time.
When asked initially for the password I just hit cancel (with no password) and we proceeded to play. We had to save and come back and now the game won't accept anything for a password. Is the game and all that time wasted? No workaround? I was winning big!!!

Grognard,

I'll check this out as soon as I finish what I am working on right now. This will consume me for another week or so, I'm afraid. Please bump this then if I don't get back to you sooner. I suspect that there will be nothing I can do to recover your "winning big" situation ( and I really feel for you, seriously ), but hopefully we can correct the bug for COTA. In the meantime, make sure you do enter a password and write it down.
