the 7th is probably a Force HQ. Force HQ's can only load on AGP's (or AGC's?)

It's kind of weird that you get a Force HQ about 3 months before the first ship shows up that can move it.

BTW, you use Force HQ's to help with amphib bonuses. Other (non-force) amphib HQ's are just like regular HQ's. (give a combat bonus, but no amphib bonus)
The older I get, the better I was.

AGC's ... AGP = PT boat tender ... think C = Command, P = PT

Very weird. I'm sure someone will say that you are supposed to use those 3 months to build up PREP points for your assault.

Are you saying that the 1st amphibious HQ does NOT give a landing bonus? It should land with the assault troops then? I was
going to have it stay offshore in the landing hex. [&:]

No, he's saying it's an additional special bonus on top of the normal hq bonuses.

Hmmm...at the risk of sounding dumb..let me re-phrase my question.
Should i send the 1st AMPHIB. HQ ashore with the assault troops,or
leave it onboard an AP in the landing hex?[&:]
Only "force HQ's" give a landing bonus, right?

Depends on what you are landing into ... HQ's are soft troops, they bleed fast. If you have lots of troops to share the hurt, go ahead. The extra support will help troops recover quicker (most units are always short on support).

Recon shows light opposition. I guess i'll have the HQ land with
the first wave & see what happens. I'm sure the grunts will enjoy seeing the rear-area brass get their feet wet[:)]

Better to wait until they've had a chance to dry their clothes and comb their hair...
