Game of the Year Award

Post by JosephL »

The Wargamer's reader choice awards gave WITP third place in Turn Based and second place in the overall game of the year! That's some awesome work by the many fans out there who voted!

quite deserved awards, IMO!!!, congrats, Matrix and 2by3!!!! :D

what I don't understand is how is possible that the 2nd best game of the year is only the third in turn-based strategy? if something doesn't make sense is this! :D

also, Rome isn't turn-based, like it or not. It's got a BIG real-time part. But I guess they should include it somewhere ,and they chose to put it in turn-based games.

I hope many people reads the awards report and decides to purchase the game, is well worth it and quite possibly the best investment in entertainment software I've ever made in my life (and I've done quite a lot of it! :D)

Game has to be deserving of awards for fans to like it and vote. Obviously an excellent and satisfying game. Great news.

Mmm, why they put Rome Total War in the Turn Based games? [:-]
Rome (and the other TW series) is awesome for graphics but it's more RTS than TB in my opinion.

And it is not a wargame. They should've made wargames a separate catgoery.

I bought Rome: Total War and I admire the dust it has collected on my shelf. Medieval was a heck of alot better imo but it all don't matter because WitP consumes all of my game time and should have won game of the year. Just can't understand why I bought R:TW in the first place, very displeased to say the least.[:-]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Well yeah Rome is rather shallow in comparison, also devs were promising multiplayer campaigns since days of Shogun, yet players for the third time in a row still being lied to. But then WitP is for the small detail enjoying elite anyways.
Wargamer is slowly turning into popsy beer and pretzels site. Hardly an authority anymore.
