I wouldn't play it using this engine. Europe was a land war, WITP engine wouldn't cope. The Atlantic is a submarine war, so not a lot of fun, and the occasional Surface Raider wouldn't generate that much exitement. Outside of that, you've got a few days potential fun in Norway, and sporadic fighting in the Mediterranean which was finished by mid 43, and never reached anything like the levels you'll be used to playing in WITP. It just wouldn't work. UV med was a nice idea, but there simply wasn't a game there in this sort of format.

2by3 should finish patching and get on to WIR.

Yep, the Germans bombed Pearl.[;)]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Sad thing is...if you asked 100 American's if that was true, I would bet you 90 of them would say yes. [:(] What is wrong with the youth of today!

Ever see the movie "Animal House"?

Belushi: "Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

Frat kid #1: "The Germans didn't bomb Pearl Harbor."

Frat kid #2: "Shut up, he's on a roll!"

Not with this engine. Continental land combat, which is the focus of that theater, is irreprably BROKEN in this engine.

I have WIE by Decision games. IT was programmed from the original SPI game War in Europe as a programming project for college. With that in mind it only has a few bugs, er, design features that are problematic. Computer WIE follows the rules and the programmer did a pretty good job. It is playable only as solo or PBEM and there is nothing that even resembles an AI. Now talking about pricy games... I bought it in '98 for $60
Yes, it is a dry heat... but so is a bloody blast furnace!

I've got it too, which is why I knew about it! I also used to have the original SPI boardgame version, what a monster that was...enormous fun to play around with though.
