Game loses joystick

Hi I bought starshatter yesterday and it looks a good game so far. However It keeps loosing my joystick??? I will be flying for a few minutes and all is fine then the joystick throttle and rudder all go dead. My HOTAS set up works in all other games and even if I Alt tab out of starshatter control panel says the stick etc is all fine but I need to quit the game and re enter it to get the game to re recognize my stick.

Havent had this happen so I have no idea....however what HOTAS setup do you have. A. I just ordered a CH Fighterstick and am concerned. B. This info may help someone solve your problem.[&:] goodluck

It is a older gameport chproducts f16 combat stick with a pro throttle and rudder. All work fine in all other games and some of the time in starshatter but every so offten it loses the stick throttle and rudder and I need to go back to windows and reenter the game to get them back again [:(]

I have some suggestions for you.
I have flown SS with an USB Saitek X-45 HOTAS combo.
It allways worked awesome for all other games except SS. Even without key mapping it had produced some nasty CTDs even some system crashes or freezes.
When I mapped the joystick with the Saitek editing software, CTDs became more frequent.
In consequence I went down to my basement and brought up the good old CH Virtual pilot pro, with my CH rudder pedals. It works fine and never had the slightest problem.
This is an analog device (gameport) and not USB.

I suggest that you try this :

1. Fly without key mapping enabled.

2. If this still brings you problems, get a good old analog port joystick from ebay.

Finnaly, I am very happy with the quality of CH products.

I haven’t used any key mapping and my joystick etc is a older analogy game port set up.
its a real shame because the game looks like I could really get into it, but it loses the fun when after a really good mission and destroying a few enemy ships etc with no damage to my ship, my ship loses all control and just sits dead still in space waiting for the enemy to shoot me [&:].
