Canned Scenerios Won't Load!!

A new strange twist. The game hangs and needs a three finger salute to kill the exe when I try to load any of the canned scenarios other then the tutorials. They load fine. Saved games are fine. New scenarios are fine. Saved scenarios are fine too. Since I'm playing with graphics and data (see other posts) I would have to believe the game is smart enough to not load a standard scenario with modified data. Is there a Dev who could confirm this? Is there a way to recompile those scenarios? Am I SOL and looking to reload?

Inquiring minds wish to know.

I would have kept a clean backup (copy) of the scenarios and data folders and files elsewhere.... just in case so full reinstall wouldn't be necessary. I can't say for certain, but my gut reaction is yes, you'll have to reinstall.

Well thankfully it wasn't any of the mods. After finally being smart enough to read the error output file I saw this:

exception class : EFCreateError
exception message : Cannot create file "C:\JRS Games\Matrix Games\Flashpoint Germany\Briefing0\Thumbs.db". Access is denied.

I copied in a version from another load of the game and it fixed it. It appears that there was a corrupt version of the file in the folder but not visible in explorer.

All is well now!
