Opinion on Score (Case Blue)

Post by huhrlass »

I just completed the Case Blue scenario 30 turns and it came out to a draw. I came out with these stats and was wondering if they were conservative or good, bad, ugly?

AXIS Soviets
squads - 13,039 26,173
AFV - 1,955 2,569
Guns - 3,515 9,841
Aircraft - 1,964 4,890

I played the Axis

I captured Rostov with about 5 turns left, unable to get across the kerch Penisnsula, was about 6-7 hexes away from Stalingrad and unable in the North to capture I think Vorenezh, I had a strong built up line and was quite hesitant to move the panzer divisions, i used airlift effectively when my one panzer korp was surrounded but with a human opponent i know I would have been pounded on a continual basis and it most likely 90% sure that it would have surrendered. Oh well, thats the ai for you

let me know what you think

A scenario that requires a quick execution of your operational plans before the snow comes...

You inflicted heavy casualties on the Soviets, as it should happen: hammer 'em hard when going on the offensive...
Voronezh is a tough one to capture, but necessary to build up a strong flank, as is Rostov...
If you push south from Rostov , that can draw away some attention from the units defending the Kerch peninsula...

I always transfer one extra air transport unit to one of the front HQ's, to have some extra "juice" in store, in case the panzers get cut off...

Better luck next time[;)]
