Questions about Japanese production

Post by Distiller »

I'm a little concerned. In the "Industry/Troops/Ressources Pool" the build rate is 0 (zero/nix/nada). I know the manual says if you your pool is above the six month average, it shows zero, but I think my Chinese Army could very well use a couple of howitzers, and the production still says zero.

# How do I know how much armamemnt & vehicles I actually build?
# And how do I know how much I need?
# And how would I know I'm short of manpower or heavy industry?
# I can build a nice pool of aircraft, even halted quite a number of aircraft factories, but why don't I produce armament & vehicles for the pool?

I this normal or am I doing something wrong? There isn't a general (and hidden) "production on/off" button, is there?

Rate says zero, but it is not zero. Watch your pools and "used" levels.

As Japan, you should increase armament production - doubling the capacity of the small factories (10-30 capacity)works best.

Your armaments factories don't produce weapons/squads ("W/S"), rather they produce generic armaments points. Look in your "Industry/Troops/Resource Pool". Under "Totals" on the right-hand side you will see something like "Armaments: 750 (9500)". The 750 is the number of armaments centers you have; the 9500 is the number of armaments points you have accumulated in your pool. This is the number that you want to see increasing every turn. These generic armaments points combine with manpower points to produce any of the specific W/S. The W/S themselves are quite inflexible; once you have a 47mm AT gun, it will be a 47mm AT gun until the Allied player destroys it for you. But this is okay, because the W/S are produced as-needed (with some change left over), by combining wonderfully-flexible armaments points and manpower points from the pools. These points, not the W/S, are your money in the bank. But the W/S are only going to be produced if some LCU has qualified to receive replacements this turn, and the W/S produced will be limited to the current TOE requirements of the qualifying unit(s).

Vehicles points work the same way as armaments points.

Well, anyway if you are IJ they do.
