Database Question - IX

Post by scout1 »

Ok,

I'm messing around with the loc's csv file and specifically addressing LCU's and bases.
Coule of oddities I can't seem to figure out and isn't clear in the editor manual as to why

1) LCU's
I'm finding multiple occurrences of LCU's containing data in the PortSz and AirfieldSz
field. These values range up to in excess of 100 in some cases. I've checked the
info in the database editor and it shows this too. Why ? I can't see why any data
is in this field for LCU's.

2) Bases
I have finding several cases where bases have info in the Wpn data field that have
ID values in excess of 1000. The device csv data only lists ID's to 999, nothing past
it. I checked the database editor and it also doesn't have anything past ID of 999.
Does anyone know what these values are and what they represent ?

Aircraft Factories. Some bases have factories (especially Japan w/ production), and aircraft are assigned as devices, i.e. aircraft 001 becomes device 1000, 002 1001, etc.

You sure you haven't gotten a screwed up export? No way on earth that location should have anything higher then 10.

Never say never, but check the database editor for Sc 015. An example is under Locations, ID 1616 and 1617. Both listed as infantry units, both have values in the Port and airfield fields 27/4 and 30/4 respectively. I saw some allied LCU's that had values in excess of 100. Granted I didn't expect to see anything in excess of 10 for a BASE. I have 2 questions, why does an LCU have anything in these fields, and secondly, why are these values so high.

If you're interested I can provide a listing of ALL LCU's that have "unusual" data (at least unusual to me until someone can explain it).

Do you have a conversion listing so I can incorporate it ? Or is it merely

1000 001
1001 002
1002 003
1003 004
and so on

Editor manual pg 29. "For many ground units, the AI uses the otherwise unused Port and Airfield fields together to determine when to change their HQ." It then goes on to explain how it is used.
