Supply on defense Q.

I think I saw somewhere that when land forces are attacked, the entire region uses only 1 supply to defend. My question is, is this 1 supply per TURN or 1 supply per ATTACK.

If its 1 supply per attack, this could lead to a possible exploit:

Let's say you have a region cut off and you knew they had say only 2 supply left. You could send in 1 militia on a suicide attack. Your militia would get wiped out but it would cause the defender to burn a supply. Then you do it a second time and now his last supply point is used. Now you launch your full attack and get the out of supply bonus. Had you simply attacked all at once, the defender wouldn't suffer from being out of supply.

Do I have this right? If so, it seems a little gamey. But only for devious people like me who think of this stuff!

I believe (and I'll check tonight to confirm) that its one supply per turn - I've tried the same tactics (sending one unit at a time), but the defender supply is always 1.

Note: cutting off troops is still very effective. As is resupplying them by air. Nothing ruins your day like having your opponent mount an offensive from a cut-off area after flying in a few heavy bombers.

It is definitely one supply per turn.

Think of a units supply as a state or condition. Once a unit receives supply ( via being attacked, attacking someone, or being moved operationally ) its state turns to supplied ( You can tell by looking at its pop-up icon ). This state remains in effect until the beginning of your next turn when all units revert to the unsupplied state.

Lather, rinse, repeat...

Good to hear. I was hoping that was the case. It makes a lot more sense.

Seems like the defender has a huge advantage in terms of supply vs attacker but that's as it should be.

Of course, the attacker gets to pick where and when. [:D]

BTW, how much supply can a single heavy bomber airlift? And can they be hit by op fire when traveling over territories with fighters and/or flak.

5 supply per heavy bomber, and they are subject to OpFire from AA & air units in the territories the pass through.

That seems reasonable. So if you encircle the enemy, put some flak around it and get ready for the turkey shoot!

Can your air supply force be escorted? Can your escorts suppress AAA?

SInce you can move and attack in any order, you can use other bombers to bomb the Flak, and send fighters to drive off enemy air, then fly your supplies unscathed (assuming the previus attacks were successful...).
