Flight controls problem with the demo

Post by Sparfell »

Hi everybody !

By sheer luck, I ended on a web page describing Starshatter, and, WOOWWW, it sounded quite promising, so I downloaded the demo (3.9.4). Unfortunately, I have two problems with my controller :
- the throttle does not seem to be recognized
- the rudder is a little uncalibrated (slight movement when in central position).
I have a Thrustmaster F16 FLCS + TQS + CH Pro Pedals, all in gameport, all declared as my first and single game controller device under Win98 SE. Of course, I tried to recalibrate my controller ... with no effect [&:] . Also, my controller works well with other flight sims. A seearch on this forum didn't give me any hints .... soooo ... here I am [&o] : anyone have an idea ?

Apart from that, the little I have tested seems very interesting, I can't wait to test this space-flight sim with a recognized flight sim controller[;)][:'(] .

from last october:
No, it isn't currently supported. Starshatter can manage the keyboard, mouse, and one other controller at the same time.

Yes, I am planning to add support for this in the future, along with support for some additional controller types. However, this is a moderately complex change to the code, so I can't give you an exact date as to when it will happen.

sorry :x

although 4.5 might help out

Hi Sparfell!

I had the same problem with my CH F-16 Combat Stick, no throttle (yes I know it's an antic stick, but works fine to me!). I finally configured it as 6 button joystick with 2 hat switches and throttle in Windows game control configuration. And now my stick works with throttle. I don't have rudder pedals, so I don't know if it's possible to get them to work.

TheDeadlyShoe,

I think your statement is irrelevant to my problem : I only have ONE controller (the three devices are declared as ONE for Win98 SE). Besides, my rudder works (although a little off calibration ). Your statement would be valid if each device was declared separately for Windows, which is not my case.

Papi,

I think I see your point, but alas, it is again out of my scope. My combo is, I believe, even older than yours (it's from the good ol' time of DOS[X(][X(] ), it comes with nothing to be installed for Windows98, so I manually had to decalre it as a four buttons 2 axes (later 3 axes when I added the rudder), after which, I believe I am in quite a same situation as you ... except that it's not working [:(].

Thanks for your answers, both of you, and, if I misunderstood your point, then please, shed some light on me [:o] !

Sorry, I was under the impression that you were using a seperate throttle.

It wasn't just you who had that problem.
