Anyone tried to take Truk?

Does it have repair yards? If you take it, do you have access to them? I've been close to completely cutting off the island from supply and was toying with the idea of just taking it if I would have access to those juicy repair yards.

Sending a couple of AR and a Naval HQ in a big port is better than a small repair yard. Ships with medium damage (<20) repair in Truk in my IJN PBEM rather than doing all the way to Japan and back.

Yah I just wanted an advance base to refit my subs.... no biggie, I'll just let it wither.

I was lucky enough to take and hold Rabaul & Kav by the end of 1942 (full campaign) and after almost a year and a half of aerial pummelling and a complete cutoff from the empire (anything that tries to get close get's eliminated) I tried to land a bunch of troops there... bad idea. just the coastal guns were enough to take out the invasion force!

I'm sunning myself in Manila right now, so let 'em rot.

LOL, ok thanks for the intel. I had a bunch of transports shot up taking out Kwajelien, so I'm not eager to see anymore carnage for a while. This one may be better off left alone.
