IL2 Mania Review

This one is in Spanish, no overall score, but here's a rough translation of the conclusion. You can use Babel Fish to translate the page and get a good idea of what is going on.

"The missions of the campaigns, are very complete, and filled with airplanes and furious combat."

JoesephL can I ask you a stupid question? I came into Matrix well after IL2.
I see these add-ons, do you need IL2 to play them?
Heres another stupid question what does IL2 stand for?
Is that game still available?

LOL this can be a long post

Il-2 was the first game

IL-2 Sturmovik

IL-2 FB is

IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles

and yes, depending on which add on you asking about, you are going to need one or the other

and to make it more complix

there is also AEP

Ace Expansion Pack

and of course, there is PF

Pacific Fighters

now, all 3 of the later ones merge together, and if you get the TLDs addon, depending on what you have or what is merged, you will get more of the add on

and yes, the games are still out and most can be found in the bargin bins, some places offer soem of them to go along with Joysticks and what not

plus I think Ubisoft also has some best of/gold versions that include most of there add ons

if you like detailed flight sims (the graphics on the planes/ground details are unreal) it is a great game/sim

so over all would suggest looking for IL-2 FB and see if you like the game, if so, then you an get TLDs and or any of the others you want or need

and if you are HARD core, you will want them all, I have IL-2 FB, AEP, BOE, Barbarussa, PF and TLDs (LOL I got all the disks in the box that PF came in, in case I need to reinstall)

and think I have a good deal/have enjoyed the game/sim since I got it

HARD_Sarge

oh, by the by, IL-2 and IL-2 FB are not the same game, and or do not combine, so if you can find them, get IL-2 FB as that is the one that is going to grow
