Paul vs the AI as Soviets
OK, after some delay - I finsihed off 43 using the strategy outlined - concentrating on a northern route. Supply shortages kept us from doing much in Winter. My hope is that by threatening Eastern Poland, the Germans will withdraw. The WA are readying a thrust into the Med.

Here are our builds, mostly defense replacement of losses incured. I had this set to provide 20 free supply. My intent is to conduct a limited offensive to threaten Eastern Poland and bring up reserves.

THE WA take southern Italy and forces an italian surrender. Germany reacts in the spring sending massive reinforcements to hold northern Italy. My gambit rebuilding replacements pays off and our limited drive into Eastern Poland is successful!

PRoduction focuses on supply and research, per the "plan" - finishing replacing loses and starting a few tanks for 44.

The Germans respond with a summer offensive, they attampt to drive and threaten cutting off my northern thrust, but don't commit enough force. Rebuilding the losses turns out to be vital to holding and being in position to counterattack. Our supply situation - as much from the rail network being damaged as the lack of supplies, makes it difficult to do much.

Here is the result of our attacks, we stabilize the front, but take some serious losses. We focus our armor in the north, per teh "northern route" strategy, but stay strong in Kiev

OUr builds continue to try to balance supply and research - and keep on top of losses. We build a pair of inf and arty to keep the force balanced. if we can't keep rough parity with the german's research wise (within 1) we can hurt him, if the Germans have a 2 or greater advantage, attrition will not be favorable.

The Allies massively reinfoce southern Italy and it draws considerable force froom the Russan front. THe conversion of rail, factories and resources can go forward without as much risk of waste in counterattacks.

We push on into GERMANY! East PRussia falls to the tank armies. We spend most of our supply on rail and resource conversion (Kiev is back to full operations as we seem to have it well in hand

Arty and FB land attack research moves near completion - we take a slight cost hit to get production started.

We take advange of empty hungary and weak rumania in an attempt to break infrastructure, even if we can't hold it.
The pace of operations with all the infrastructure to repair means there is not much decision making at this point but push ahead at teh waekest point each turn and backfill behind it.
Germany hedges by position a strong force in Yugoslavia that can move to retake northern italy or oppose me.

We take advanatage of getting forward factorieso n line to build up our front line froces in place. HE is too strong to confront directly and we are haivng difficulty getting our forces up to the front.
Our Sturmovick armada will take a large toll when it arives! Losses have been high and we need to avoid losing ground gained.
