Question about DD.......

Post by Rattlehead2005 »

Well i originally planned on buying game this from EB Games, but for some reason, it seems like..UNLESS the store got preorders on it, there not getting it in THIS shipment. Mabey im wrong...at this point im baffled at wtf EB's doing. However now im thinking about buying per DD, but friend told me that you can only install the game like 5 times or something, once you make copy to another CD. Is this true? I understand about Piracy, which i DON'T do, but just want some clarification on this.....

Thnx.......

Rattlehead,

No, that's not true. Digital download allows you to download the master installation file. You can reinstall it on your computer as many times as you like. We recommend that you keep the serial number (needed for installation) and a backup copy of the downloaded file in a safe place. I would burn it to CD and write the serial on the CD case.

Hi, this is the fact with some online music stores, where you can download licensed mp3 music files. Some of these only allow to have that purchased mp3 file burned to disc a certain ammount of times. Maybe your friend mixed that up.

They really screwed this one up, and to think i was so ignorant to believe it would be different[8|]. It is very hard to find it retail...i truly believe it now[8|]. My pre-order (online)went "poof" and 2 other attempts(2 different retailers) were in vain. Your safe with the download, no worries. I'm just gonna sleep on it, another day...month...

Ok thnx for the feedback........I think me and buddy are gonna go DD, but we have a small dillema. He's gonna use his Credit Card to pay for 2 copys, but question is, how can i get mine from him. He said something about uploading from him, but its got us both kinda concerned on how to do it. Were trying to do this without him giving me his Credit Card number, and having to do 2 seperate orders.(which i wouldnt want to do either) Plus it would really suck, if he did this, then find out theres no way to get my copy to me.

If you have decent bandwidth, I'd recommend downloading it yourself. If that's not an option, I'd say the next easiest is to have your friend download it and give you (or mail you) one of the two serial numbers he'll receive and a copy of the installer on a CD. I'm not sure what the limitations in terms of purchasing or downloading are in your situation, but there is nothing preventing your friend from downloading your copy for you, then giving it to you on a CD or other medium.

Please note that if you have the possibility of getting it in a retail store this week, that option will also get you a copy in a box with a printed manual.

Eric,

Thanks for the quick responses[:)]
Couldn't he jus send the serial and exe. file through Yahoo or Skype to me? Then i can copy it to CDR? Instead of me drving 55 miles to get the CD from him.

Thnx....

Yes, he could, though if you've got the bandwidth it would be faster to just download it directly yourself.
