Display problems with demo

Hullo!

I've just downloaded the demo v3.9.4 but it won't run properly. First it said it couldn't set the resolution to 1280 x 720 and immediately quit, so I went into the video config file and changed the settings to my own resolution.

Now I can load the demo, but my display flickers constantly, enough to be a show-stopper. I've tried various combinations in the graphics setup in-game and also fiddled with my v-sync settings as recommended in another thread. No luck so far.

My rig:
Acer Aspire P4 2.6 GHz
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9000

I'm willing to post the errorlog generated by the game and my DxDiag info if needed. Any help appreciated!

Never mind, closing a few programs did it.
