Paced game with mandatory AAR

Post by sveint »

I would like to propose a paced game (not too fast, people get to think and take their turns) with a mandatory AAR (everyone makes different threads and post their thoughts and plans).

Usually I'd not propose a PBEM game this early but I have a feeling that strategies will be analyzed to death in a few months and it'd be fun to do game before we know every detail about how to play the game to perfection.

Personally I'll play any nation.

I am in - I assume it's the 1940 scenario. Will also play any nation.

I'll play too -- are you thinking we use Advanced Supply yet? That scares me a bit - I made enough mistakes without it so far (but I'm willing to confront my fears!) [;)]

I suggest we get going then - I also suggest that the Soviet player can play the Chinese. :) (Then they have something to do the first couple of turns)

My email: dobeln(at)gmail.com

So, who plays who? :)

Yes, let's use Advanced Supply (even though I'm not 100% comfortable with it yet). My point being mistakes will be made and people will learn.

I'd actually suggest we find a player for China in this AAR. If we can't Russia could play them, sure.

Ok since everyone is willing to play any nation... just choose one. To me it doesn't really matter. I'd rather not play Western Allies, but... I could play them if no one else wants to. Russia or Japan would suit me fine.

Let's see... I'll update this list as we go. FINAL
Germany: dobeln (dobeln AT gmail.com)
Japan: (ryandwalker AT hotmail.com)
Russia: sveint(sveint99 AT gmail.com)
China: Barthheart (vances AT rogers.com)
Allies: pablomagno (pablo.velo AT tiscali.it)

Let me know if this is ok?

Options should be: Manual production, advanced supply, fog of war ON, rest default.

If you need a fifth player, I am ready, willing, and able. Any nation is fine (i'll take the leftover).

Ok updated, let me know if you are ok with how I assigned nations.

Once we start we will each make our own thread where we post our AARs. We are (of course) not allowed to read each others' AARs until the game is over. Personally I can do a max of one turn per day, but I am really not worried about hurrying the game.

I am fine with being big, bad Germany :) Now for learning how to PBEM - will send first turn to Pablo as soon as the sides are finalized.

Regards, Dobeln

PS.

If there is anything quirky about the PBEM system that I should know about, this is the time to let me know.

Fog of War should be on; sorry I should have mentioned that.

I'm actually a bit worried that Advanced Supply and FoW are not default options - at least for PBEM.

Ok seems like the sides are final. Ryan - I don't mind no turn over the weekend. As I said I want this game to be paced - no rush. Now if you're out of town for a month that's another matter...

Also, I just played Soviet against the AI and didn't do too well. Next time it will be for real!

gottoman,

Would you be ok to 'referee' the game? And hold on to everyone's password in case there is a dropout.
