Destroyed chinese Units not Returning

In my PBEM games destroyed Chinese infantry units are not reforming at Chunking in 30 days like the manual says they should. I ran a test with version 1.4 head to head and couldn't get them to reform that way either.

I know there have been several threads on the boards about trying to slow the Japanese in China. Getting the destroyed units back even at 1/3 TOE should help with this.

Is there any sign of the destroyed division in the Land Reinforcement schedule?
Search for its name in case AI has added a bit of randomness to "days to arrive".

Also click on the "Land units" button and see if it is still showing there (maybe as a fragment)?

I've never seen Chinese unit come back. Never seen one on the reinforcement list either, and I check that every turn. Do you think if it's a fragment A/B/C unit and gets destroyed it's gone forever?

If a sub-unit (a/b/c) is destroyed, the parent unit can't recombine.
I would expect the rule only applies to "normal" units, not splits or fragments which are oustide of the normal range of unit numbers.

The destroyed units were whole, not split. They never show up in the land reinforcements schedule and running turns for 40 days they never spontaneously return either.
