No play

Post by Flannel »

just bought Flashpoint' did the tutorials, no problems, also the 1st scenario "Soviet Tank Rush" no problems, kept the soviets out and got a marginal victory! now trying to open the 2nd scenario but the game locks up, I have to switch off my machine to clear it. Is this a known problem??
None of the other scenarios open either.

Flannel,

A couple questions.
1. Have you downloaded and installed the 102 patch?
2. At what point does the game lock up (what screen)?

In the games main folder there may be a FPG_Report.txt file. This is an error log that can help the developers trouble shoot the problem. If it exists, please attach it to a post.

With any luck, the Dev's can have you up and running quickly.

Flannel,

Looking at the log, it appears that one of the briefings folders is messed up. Look in the Briefing0 folder for a Thumbs.db file. I'm going to guess it is missing or corrupted. If it is missing just copy the one from Briefings1 folder and try a new game.

Hope that helps.

"Thumbs.db" is a file created by Windows automatically to handle some of the images found in the briefing files. One other person has had trouble with it too. Did Cap'n Darwin's suggestion seem to help?

Cheers, Rob
