Just got the game and ...

Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

Just got the game and ...

A couple of questions: The DEMO came with a "scenario" The ARDENNES. I thought the full game had that also, but I am not seeing it?

I thought I read (somewhere) that there was a 24 page "Quick Start Guide", but all I've found is the TUTORIAL, GAME, and EDITOR pdf manuals?

Its there... look for Tao (i.e. The Ardennes Offensive)

Think the Quick Start might have been a KP item. You listed the three reference pdfs that BIN comes with.

Thanks. Found that TAO! Guess I was expecting it to show up some other place.

As to the "24-page" ... as I said, probably just bad memory on my part.

Its like the folders and sub folders on your computer

The TAO folder has only one scenario - TAO4

The Normandy folder has the Normandy scenarios

Sorry--the (BIN) does advertise a Quick Start Guide. Taken from the game manual under section 3. Getting Started: "... For those familiar to wargaming and wishing to jump straigt in, a quickstart Player's Guide is included. ..."

So, I will repeat my question: Where is the quickstart Player's Guide?

On the Gamemenu, top left corner are the links to all documents. they´re also in the START menu folder for BIN.

On that basis the statement is in error then, because the ONLY documents listed are the GAME MANUAL (which I quote above), the TUTORIAL and the GAME EDITOR.

It's not the first time manuals have been wrong. SSG probably at one time thought to include a "quick start guide" and then it got overlooked.

No biggie, the TUTORIAL is very comprehensive for learning the game. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't overlooking something.

I believe the tutorial is what is being referred to elsewhere as the quick start guide.
I'll check when I get home, but I think the printed thing you get with the cd-rom version
of the game is called the quick start guide, and is the same as the tutorial pdf.

What's in a name? A "quick start guide" as big as the "manual". Oh well.
